METALJAM 2005 Details Announced

The third-annual MetalJam, "MetalJam 2005", will take place on Saturday, October 22 at Hogue Barmichaels in Newport Beach, CA. MetalJam 2005 features local musicians jamming together to benefit Cure Autism Now, a non-profit organization of parents, clinicians and leading scientists committed to accelerating the pace of biomedical research in autism through raising money for research projects, education and outreach.

MetalJam raises money for Cure Autism Now by selling raffle tickets the night of the jam for $5 each as well as taking donations at the door. This year the organizers have in excess of fifty items that will be raffled off. You can see some of the items that will be raffled off on October 22 by going to www.metaljam.org.

The event organizers will also be selling t-shirts to commemorate the event for $25. You can pre order a t-shirt by going to this location. Last year the shirts sold out before the event was over so order now and you will have your shirt waiting for you the night of the event.

MetalJam was created in 2003 by local musicians Jenny Warren and Jeff Fahnestock, who are both raising autistic children. The goal was to bring the local music community together as well as raise money for a good cause that was very close to home.

The MetalJam event is a free five-hour-long jam that includes local musicians and fans, plus radio station personalities and a raffle, with donations taken at the door. MetalJam 2004 was a huge success, with over 40 participants in the jam, nearly 300 audience members, and raising almost $2,000 for Cure Autism Now.
